    Roma Youth Statement on 16 May

    DIKH HE NA BISTER stands for the power of Roma youth to write their own history. Remembering our past, replete with persecutions and resistance, is meant to restore our dignity that we were robbed of, and to strengthen the identity-building of a new generation of Roma youth.

    Dikh He Na Bister 2020

    Online Action Day for the recognition and remembrance of the Roma Holocaust Memorial Day This year would have been the 10th anniversary of Dikh He Na Bister. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was not possible to bring together hundreds of minority and majority youth from all over Europe, as in previous years, to jointly strengthen remembrance, recognition and education about the genocide of Sinti and Roma on the occasion of the European Holocaust Memorial Day for Sinti and Roma.     Dikh He Na Bister 2019

    The DiKH He Na Bister initiative is part of the remembrance activities for the 75th anniversary of 2 August – European Roma Holocaust Memorial Day 2019. About 500 young Roma and non-Roma people from all over the world gathered in Krakow, Poland to share stories, learn about history and commemorate the atrocities of the past – and to get empowered to face the challenges of today!
