Meeting in the Biblioteca Bon Pastor
The team of Nakeramos, one of the Spanish partners of the Dikh He Na Bister initiative, organized a working day as a follow-up initiative of DHNB with the aim of the objectives of addressing the historical facts, debating the political contexts, and most importantly, discussing the role and responsibility of young educators, students, activists, and organizations in strengthening the change at the local, national, and international level. Prior to this, on 26 October 2021, Nakeramos has organized an informative session regarding the consequences of limited information on the Roma Genocide, and the direct effects of Antigypyism that the communities experience locally. Words which lead to actions
The Phiren Amenca International Network, RomNet, the Uccu Roma Informal Education Foundation and the Civil Council Association commemorated the victims of the Roma Holocaust with an unusual, interactive exhibition on August 2, 2021. in Budapest, Hungary. The exhibition was entitled “Words which Lead to Actions” besides facts about the Roma Holocaust, showed the centuries old oppression of Roma that still persists today in Hungary but also in the whole Europe and created space for self-reflections. The content of the museum was developed by the initiative of the previously mentioned organizations. A moment at the sea
Text by Satu Florin As a part of commemoration event in Finland, the Finnish Roma Association and the Finnish Roma youth network wanted to raise awareness on the genocide committed against Roma during the Second World War. We invited a group of active young Roma people with whom we together commemorated the victims of the Roma genocide. In our video, we shared the history of Finnish Roma and told about the Second World War and the Roma Holocaust. As far as we known no Roma had been sent from Finland to concentration camps. Raising awareness about the Roma genocide in Croatia
Small Commemoration – visiting Roma Commentary Ustica and Roma Memorial Center in Ustica. Roma Youth Organisation, the Croatian partner of the Dikh He Na Bister Initiave organized on December 15th 2021 a visit of the Roma Memorial Centar in Ustice as well as the visit of the Roma Umbrella Association Kali Sara. Considering the fact that this visit was taking place in December 2021, participation of the general public was restricted. Limited number of participants were from the Roma Resurce Center, Roma Youth Organization. Obituary for Alfreda Markowska
At the age of 94, Alfreda Markowska has passed away on 30 January 2021. She survived the Roma Holocaust during the Second World War and is a true Polish Romni Heroine, who saved more than fifty Romani and jewish children from from death at the hands of the Nazis. She was born on 10 May 1926 in a Polska Roma tabor (mobile camp) to a traveling family in today’s Poland. She was the only survivor of the murder of her whole family, including her parents and siblings, by the Nazis in 1941. in this single massacre near Biała Podlaska between 65 to 85 members of her extended family were murdered.…

Tribute to our Hero Raymond
Dikh He Na Bister pays tribute to our friend and hero Raymond Gurême, who died in May 2020. He would be celebrating bis 95th birthday in a few days. Raymond was born into a Manouche family of actors and acrobats in France. In Nazi-occupied Europe, his family had been imprisoned in camps, like so many other Romani People under fascism. As a teenager he escaped, then he would break into these camps to feed and care for his loved ones, before boldly escaping again! His sister Henriette wrote a song about his courage.
