Our Facilitators for Dikh He Na Bister 2024

We are very proud to announce our 16 wonderful facilitator teams for Dikh He Na Bister 2024! They will lead their groups of young participants from all over Europe though a 5-day learning experience in Kraków and the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum site. They will lead workshops on challenging topics such as Roma and Holocaust History and will prepare the participants for the commemoration ceremonies on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of 2 August 1944, European Holocaust Memorial Day for Roma and Sinti. And, of course, the facilitators will also empower them to speak out and to take action today!

The training of these 32 dedicated facilitators took place in Oswiecim, Poland in May 2024. They are young Roma and non-Roma educators, trainers and youth leaders actively involved in work on Remembrance, Holocaust and Human Rights education. They have continued to work hard in their teams of two since then to prepare the individual sessions, in close contact with the Educational Team, focusing on the challenges of working with young people of various backgrounds. Considering the difficult topic of the Holocaust and the heterogeneity of the groups, attention was paid on recognizing and dealing with emotions as well as conflict resolutions. Reflection techniques were and continue to be a crucial part of the teamwork. We are grateful that they are choosing to put their time and effort into our initiative this year to make this year’s event memorable for our participants.
