    Songs of the sorrow times

The RomArchive, hosted by the Documentation and Cultural Center of German Sinti and Roma, is a valuable source of the stories and narratives provided by the victims themselves and it contributes much of lesser known historical texts to improve places and narratives of remembrance. The RomArchive (www.romarchive.eu) creates an internationally accessible, reliable online source of knowledge, which counters stereotypes and prejudices with facts. For the first time, the story of the genocide committed against the Romani minority was told exclusively from the perspective of the victims. Therefore, the sources can establish counter-narratives for Roma youth organisations to use in their educational work. As part of the project “Dikh He Na Bister…

This year, the meeting was held in Paris, a good opportunity to also pay our tribute to Raymond Gurême’s place of rest. Our friends and partners from La voix des Roms assisted us in creating a very beautifully packed agenda so that the training had, besides daily educational sessions, interesting visits in Paris and surroundings. The first day welcomed the group of facilitators, media team and participants for their first session, allowing them to get to know each other. The former participants managed to share their experiences, they exchanged…

Roma Youth Statement on 16 May

DIKH HE NA BISTER stands for the power of Roma youth to write their own history. Remembering our past, replete with persecutions and resistance, is meant to restore our dignity that we were robbed of, and to strengthen the identity-building of a new generation of Roma youth.
